1. Beta software — read this first
Canonscribe is in active beta. By using it, you accept:
- Features may change, break, or be removed without notice.
- The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We do not guarantee uptime, data durability, or that AI-generated output (digests, analysis, wiki entries, and so on) will be accurate.
- Your manuscript is stored locally on your device, not backed up on our servers. Export your work regularly. We are not responsible for lost stories.
2. Your content
- You own everything you write. We claim no ownership over your manuscript, characters, world, or ideas — ever.
- You also own the AI-generated continuity notes, summaries, wiki entries, and analysis Canonscribe produces from your text.
- Canonscribe does not write your prose. The AI features track and analyze what you've written; they do not generate story content on your behalf.
- You're responsible for what you submit — don't upload content you don't have the rights to, and don't use the Service for anything illegal.
3. Account & credits
- You need an account to use AI features. Keep your login credentials secure — you're responsible for activity on your account.
- AI features consume credits, priced per your subscription plan. Credit balances, pricing, and plan details are shown in-app and may change with notice.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the credit system, attempt to circumvent rate limits, or violate these terms.
4. Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Subscribing authorizes recurring charges per your selected plan.
- You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- All charges are final. We do not offer refunds, except where required by applicable law.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Canonscribe to:
- Violate any law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or abuse the underlying AI models.
- Overload, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the Service.
6. Termination
- You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access for violating these terms, non-payment, or abuse.
- Because your manuscript lives locally, terminating your account does not delete your manuscript — only your Canonscribe account, billing, and any server-side data described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service, including all AI-generated output, is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose. AI can make mistakes — always verify continuity findings against your actual manuscript before relying on them.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Osatari LLC's total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, or lost manuscripts.
8. Feedback
If you send us feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions, you agree we can use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. We'll note material changes here with an updated effective date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
